ITU's specifications for DBS service

The FCC describes a DBS service, based on ITU's specifications:

"Eight DBS's are located in the geostationary orbit, 22,3000 miles above the equator. It would receive signals from earth and retransmit them for reception by small inexpensive receiving antennas installed at individual residences. The receiver package for a DBS system will probably consist of a parabolic dish antenna, a down-converter, and any auxiliary equipment necessary for encoding, channel selection, and the like."
